Our Curriculum
At St Peter’s College provides students with a holistic curriculum that based on educating the whole person, a preparation for life. Students are encouraged and supported to pursue their academic, cultural and sporting goals to the fullest.
The emphasis of our academic curriculum reflects not only what we learn, but how we learn. It is our aim to ensure students are provided with the tools to not only achieve academically, but also to be Independent and or Self-Regulated Learners.
A graduate from the College will be well-rounded, self-aware, confident and a lifelong learner, who is open to meeting the challenges of global influences in a changing world. He or she will be equipped with the competencies needed to contribute to their community and build supportive relationships.
Our Core Curriculum
Students are also provided with a wide variety of courses at the College and within the community. These include a range of conventional academic options in the senior school that contribute to the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA).

Vocational
Students can begin their vocational qualifications which include: National Certificate in Tourism and Travel, National Certificate in Retail, Child Care/Nannying, Equine Studies, Automotive and Farm Mechanics, Business Administration, Farm Skills and pre-apprenticeship training. Gateway offers senior students structured workplace learning opportunities. These are across a variety of industries where students pursue individual programmes, allowing for hands-on learning. They are assessed in the workplace for Unit and Achievement Standards which contribute to NCEA as well as industry specific qualifications.
