and airport, 2 hours from Dunedin city and airport, 2 hours from the adventure tourism
town, airfields and ski fields of Queenstown. |
 | Climate: mild for most of the year. Winters can be cold.
Everybody looks forward to the
snow falling in the nearby mountains because that signals the start of the ski season. If
you are visiting us in any season include a warm jacket - we can have a cold day at any
time of the year. |
 | Gore: a rural town of 9,000 people. The town has magnificent sporting facilities,
including an Olympic sized skating rink, excellent trout fishing, and visitors can stay at
the Heartland Hotel (+64 3 208 9029) for accommodation and meals.

 | Things to do while in Gore: relax, shop, go fishing, go skiing (late
June to October), visit Milford Sound, go for picnics and bush walks at Dolamore
Park, peruse our nationally recognised art gallery - also country music, farm stays, ice skating, sightseeing in some of
the most beautiful and untouched natural scenery in the
