Foundation

Former students of St Peter’s have been the ‘lucky generation’ who gained their education because of their parents’ and grandparents’ generosity. It is a long time since our school asked for financial help. The opportunity now exists for those who benefited to give something back for the future needs of others. The College has formed a Foundation to better look after the future needs of the school and hostel.

“And so I tell you, Peter, you are a rock, and on this rock foundation I will build my Church” Matthew 16:18

The existence of the Foundation means that our College and Hostel can stay in the forefront of education in Southland. The principal will be held in trust and only the earnings may be spent. These annual earnings will be used for student benefits at St Peter’s College and Hostel in accordance with the Foundation Trustees’ annual decisions guided by these four objectives:

· To continue to provide enhanced educational opportunities for our children in the spiritual, academic, cultural and sporting arenas beyond the limitations of government funding

· To be able to supply and maintain facilities that enable families in all parts of the southern region to access Catholic education

· To continue to have competitive facilities that will aid in attracting staff

· To provide scholarship funding for the disadvantaged.
