Kia ora tatou
As I write this, I am looking forward to this evening’s Eisteddfod Concert at the SBS St James Theatre. It has been a big winter term with many successes and much achieved and tonight will be the ‘icing on the cake’ as we break for holidays tomorrow.
We farewelled our North American Rugby Tour group on Wednesday. This group have been working hard for the last two years to make this dream happen and many of you have contributed in some way. For Facebook users, follow the ‘St Peter’s College North American Tour 2017’ page to see how they are getting on.
We also wish the Year 9A and 10A Netball teams well as they head away to Christchurch for the South Island Tournament next week; and also the Girls’ Rugby team that is taking part in the Festival of Rugby Tournament at St Kevin’s in Oamaru next week. We pray for safe travels, and the gifts of commitment, sportsmanship and camaraderie as they enjoy these opportunities. Thank you to the generous parents who are accompanying these teams.
I myself am looking forward to attending a trans-Tasman conference from Saturday until Tuesday, for Principals of Catholic Secondary Schools. No doubt there will be much sharing of knowledge and wisdom between the two countries’ delegates.
Have a wonderfully refreshing two week break from uniforms, making school lunches and sports and cultural practices! May God keep all in our school community safe during their holiday adventures.
Ngā manaakitanga (With best wishes)
