Greetings to all of you!

It never ceases to amaze me how many activities our students successfully engage in outside of school. Whether it be sports, cultural performances, service in the community, hobbies and interests that lead on to success in competitions (like Jack Stanton’s ploughing successes), or part time jobs, our St Peter’s students are making the most of all the opportunities the community provides them. You will read about some of their successes throughout this newsletter. I know I have referred to this before, but I am a great believer in the benefits for young people from taking opportunities, committing to them and giving them full attention and effort. The time management, social skills, self-discipline and general life skills that come from this extra-curricular commitment is truly “preparation for (the rest of) life”!

Our Open Night is being held on Thursday June 22nd from 4 – 7pm. I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone in our wider school community to come along and see for yourself what happens at St Peter’s – you don’t have to have a child with you to come along for a look! We have a very limited number of open place enrolments for next year; if you know anybody wishing to enrol their child under the ‘non-preference’ category during the next few years, it is important that they do so very soon because there will be a waiting list.
