Next week ( 14 - 18 August) is the national MathsWeek, where the focus in schools around the country is on Mathematics.  Here at St Peter’s we will be offering a number of competitions throughout the week for all the students.  A quiz period is planned for Year 7 & 8 students where students compete in teams against each other. A Great Race activity, using QR codes, is also being organized for the Year 9 & 10 students. ‘Design a Postcard’ and ‘Guess the Number of Jelly Beans in the Jar’ are regular competitions as is the ‘Daily Question Challenge’; all of these can be entered by students in any year level. The Year 9 – 13 students subscribed to Education Perfect will be issued the challenge of attempting to be the student who answers the most questions on the website over MathsWeek. All of our students are encouraged to log on to the official NZAMT website for MathsWeek.  They can start over the weekend by logging on to www.mathsweek.co.nz  and having a look at the games and activities available there. Finally, check out the MathsWeek display in the Fishbowl as you enter and leave the College.
