What a wonderful celebration of ‘ends and beginnings’ on Wednesday at our Leavers’ Mass and lunch! I know many parents experienced mixed emotions watching their sons or daughters at their formal leaving ceremony before they embark on a whole new world. We farewell a number of our senior students along with the Year 13 students. It is testament to the ‘preparation for life’ that has occurred for these young people through careful course planning and work experience programmes, along with the Hokonui Tertiary High School opportunity, that all our Year 11 and 12 leavers have secured apprenticeships and/or employment. We wish them well as they enter the world of work. We also wish our Year 13 leavers – whether they leave to tertiary education or employment – all the very best for their futures. I also thank them for their contribution to our college over the past 7 years. We have truly enjoyed watching them grow up to be marvellous young adults who, I am confident, will contribute positively to the future of our wider community. Kia Kaha.
Year 8 Rotary Young Achievers
I had the privilege of attending the Year 8 Rotary Young Achiever’s evening on Monday night. These three students are most deserving of the accolades they have received – and St Peter’s College is very proud of the way they commit to excellence in so many facets of their lives. We look forward to watching these three young people continue to achieve during the next few years.
