Kate Johnston (Year 8) and Samara La Hood (Year 7) proudly represented St Peter’s College in the first round of the Venture Southland Speech Competition. Kate and Samara competed against students from Longford Intermediate on Tuesday morning. They spoke wonderfully, with confidence and control and were well received. Samara delivered a speech about ‘Bethany Hamilton’ and was placed third. Kate won the competition with her speech about ‘Mohammed Ali’, gaining her a place in the next round. Kate will go on to compete at Makarewa School on the 11th of September, and we wish her all the best. Congratulations Samara and Kate!
