'As part of our Inspiring Men and Women's Topic in RE we created life sized replicas of Saints and Prophets. Over the many weeks, 8CW worked together in groups researching the life and times of these very special people.

"Ballroom Hits Broadway"
Get your tickets to “Ballroom Hits Broadway” and come along and support Kate Lawton, a current pupil at our school who is participating in this event alongside several former St Peter’s College pupils and several future ones coming from St Mary's School. These young people would love the support of their school and I'm sure it would mean a lot to them to see some of their teachers and friends in the crowd. We would like the logo to: Þ Be distinctive and easy to recognise Þ Include aspects of our local area if possible Þ Include some elements of our vision (see below) You must be in years 11, 12 or 13 to enter. Entries need to be submitted to gclinton@gore-high.school.nz By the Monday, October 15, 2018 (first day of term 4) No late entries will be accepted. A panel from the Eastern Southland COL will decide on a winner. If you win, aspects of your logo design will be used in the Logo the Eastern Southland COL will use and you will receive a cash prize of $100 The Eastern Southland Vision The Eastern Southland Community of Learning has come together for the purpose of raising the achievement and well-being of all students across our schools. We have a genuine want for Eastern Southland to be the best it can be for our tamariki. On Saturday, 15 September the annual MUKA YOUTH PRINT EXHIBITION returns to Gore, featuring original contemporary art exclusively for children aged 5 – 18. This is a special opportunity for young people to purchase original lithographic prints by top NZ and international artists for a fraction of the normal price.
The 2018 collection will be at the Eastern Southland Gallery in Gore for ONE DAY ONLY on Saturday 15 September from 10am – 6pm. No adults allowed! Don’t miss it. Come along and support the students at the 75th Bishop’s Shield Competition which will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Gore. Our fabulous students will be competing against three other Catholic Colleges in Impromptu and Prepared Speech, Drama, Scripture and Debating. Events begin on Friday, August 10, at 7pm and commence on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 August, at 9am. Free admission. Feel free to pop in anytime during the weekend.
Congratulations to the following students who were models at the Hokonui Fashion Awards last weekend; Molly Hailes, Tayla McGuigan, Bree Shaw, Lucy Swain and Aimee Weller. A special congratulations to Tayla McGuigan who was modelling the overall winner’s garment. All are welcome to support the students during the eliminations on Wednesday, 27 and Thursday, 28 June. There will be a Feast Day Mass in the morning on Wednesday. The Best of the Rest Concert will be held on Friday, 29 June, at 1:30pm in the School Hall.
The final concert will be held at the SBS St James Theatre on Thursday, 5 July. Tickets will go on sale on 25 June from the Main School Office. Adults $15, Students $12. Eftpos available.
