![]() I had the pleasure of attending the ODT Class Act Awards yesterday in Dunedin. It is always very humbling to see the number of students who have already achieved so highly at such a young age. These achievements don’t just happen, they are the result of plenty of hard work and a positive, can-do attitude, along with enormous parent support and encouragement. Congratulations to both Sian Hutchins and Katie Reed who are our recipients this year. You can read their citations from the Otago Daily Times on the next page. Best wishes to our tournament teams who will be competing in the Winter Tournament Week events next week. Keep an eye on the sports and school Facebook pages for results updates as the week goes on. Remember to come along to our Sports’ Mass on Saturday at 7pm. Everyone is most welcome. It is with great sadness that we heard this week of Kristy Summers’ death after a lengthy battle with cancer. We extend our sympathy and prayers to Kristy’s two children – Jessika in Year 10 and Zac in Year 7. Let us pray for all other families in our school community who are currently affected by family illness and sadness. Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the members of our community who are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering may they find consolation in your healing presence. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen Kate Nicholson
