With the winter sports season fast approaching we have been stocktaking our uniforms, and have found that we are missing quite a few. A set of uniforms is not cheap to replace so we would appreciate all students double checking that they don't have any sports uniforms hiding under the bed, or in the bottom of their wardrobes.
All uniforms found are to be returned to Mr Wards in the PE office as soon as possible.
Congratulations to the following students who have been selected in the U17 Eastern Mens Basketball team:
Clement Lin, Ethan Mitchell, Eli Parish, Taylor Peterson, Matt Robinson, Jake Taylor.
All welcome to come along and support the students on Athletics Day this Monday, 25th February. The postponement day will be Tuesday, 26th February.

A huge congratulations to Sophie Shallard (Year 11) who competed in ‘The Sandfly Across the Lake Swim’. Swimmers started from the Dock Bay at the foot of Jackson Peaks in Fiordland National Park and swam to the Te Anua foreshore, which was a 1.9 kilometer open-water swim. Sophie was the 1st Female to the finish line and was place 3rd in the Junior Swimmers.
Basketball sign-up sheets are in the fish bowl for Intermediate, Secondary B and Secondary A teams. Team selection trials will begin happening in Week 3 during lunch times.
In the near future we are going to begin using online permission slips for sports events instead of the paper copy that is sent home with students or emailed to parents.
The new system will involve Google forms (the same as the students are now using for athletics entries) and will be sent via email to the necessary people. The form will include information about the sporting event and the caregiver will write their name and tick a box to confirm permission as well as any other information required.
This will eliminate the paper trail and permission slips left in the bottom of bags. In addition we are looking to switch the payment of all sports activities to being charged to caregivers accounts instead of cash being brought to the school with students.
More information regarding this will be sent out soon but if you have any questions or comments to make about these intended changes feel free to contact me.
