During the School holidays we travelled up to Oamaru to take part in the Girls Secondary Schools South Island Rugby Tournament. We had 3 full days of playing rugby and we placed 4th overall. On our last day we had a day of playing 7’s and we had two teams entered. One placed 4th overall and our other team 5th. They all played extremely well. It was a fantastic Tournament and we had three of our girls named in the Tournament Paper team, so well done to Maisie and Ruby Young and Georgia Kelly. A huge thank you to our Coaches, Phillip Mitchell and Kevin Holland, for all their hard work and time that they have put in, and a big thanks to Kim Johnson our Manager, and Jo Holland for the amazing food she fed us, making sure we never went hungry. Also a big thanks to all the wonderful supporters who came up with us and were constantly encouraging the girls.

The 10A’s travelled to Christchurch on the first Sunday of the holidays and stayed at Rangi Ruru Hostel.
On the Monday we were at the courts nice and early and we played our first game against Christchurch Girls. This was a hard game and they got away, winning by 6 goals. Next up we played Marian and we had a great game, winning by 3 goals. Our last game that day was against St Hilda’s and even though we held them to a draw until the third quarter they managed to win by 4 goals.
The second day we had three games. We had Greymouth first which we had a good win over, followed by Nelson Girls which was probably our toughest game and unfortunately, they came out on top. We played against James Hargest next and this was our closest game of the tournament; we won this by 1 goal which was really cool.
Our final day and we had two games to play. First was Craighead and they beat us, then we came up against Nelson Girls again and they won.
All up we came 20th out of 32 teams. It was an amazing Tournament and every game was a hard-fought battle with close scores.
We were really proud of how we played and with our result.
