Rugby Round Up

Kia ora rugby whānau.

As our 2024 rugby campaign is just around the corner it’s time to find your boots, wash your mouthguards and start thinking towards what rugby this season might look like for you.

Our passionate and dedicated team of volunteers held our rugby AGM last week. Here we elected our new President and secretary, Jamie Chittock and Eryn Duffy into their roles. Thanks for stepping up for our players and our club. With these new office bearers means that long serving rugby committee members, Matthew “Five” Templeton and Michelle Davers have stepped down. We acknowledge both of these hard working people - from Albion junior rugby days through to SPC they have both given copious amounts of time and effort to the betterment of rugby. Thanks so much for what you have done for us all across your time here. We value your commitment and appreciate all you have assisted us with.

We are VERY excited to have cemented our 2024 Australian Rugby Development Tour. This is happening in July for a fortunate group of 27 players. This is an exciting opportunity for our lads. We continue to actively seek fundraising opportunities to help ease things financially, so if you have anything you might like to throw our way, then please email Dana – rugby@stpetersgore.school.nz

Remember to register your learner for rugby before 15 March, and if coaching or managing is something you are contemplating, then also reach out for additional information. It’s such a rewarding experience! All resources, coaching and upskilling/training will be provided. The rugby registration link is on our Facebook page for easy access.
