NCEA Fees and Financial Assistance for 2013

Fees for domestic candidates Fee - $76.70

Additional Scholarship entries $76.70 per subject

Fees for international fee-paying candidates Fee - $383.30

If you qualify for Financial Assistance - $20.00

Financial Assistance Applications

To be eligible for financial assistance, the applicant (normally the parent or guardian of the candidate) must be the fee-payer and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Benefit applications – this includes those receiving a Work and Income or StudyLink benefit
  • Income-based applications – this includes those that have a joint family income¹ that would entitle the applicant to receive a Community Services Card
  • Multiple candidate applications – this includes fee-payers with two or more children who are candidates where the total fees to pay would otherwise be more than the $200 multiple candidate maximum.


Application form

The application for financial assistance form and information regarding financial assistance is available on the NZQA website. The community services card income thresholds are available on the Work and Income website. You should fill out the application form and return it to the school as soon as possible.
