On the 29th July, the St Peter’s Rugby Club had a successful weekend with all teams having very close games. The combined Year 7 and 8 team fought hard, unfortunately losing 49 - 51 to the Invercargill Blues, conceding in the last few minutes.

Eastern White lost to Northern Southland College/TeAnau 35-31 and Eastern Black drew with Verdon/Aurora 17 all.

The combined Eastern girls team won 27-19 against Verdon/Aurora on Monday night (31st); they now proceed through to the regional final on the 12th of August against Southland Girls.

The 1st XV fought hard to come away with a win over Menzies 21-20; scoring 2 trys (Ryan McFaul and Epeli Sigatagitagi) and both converted by Liam McFaul in the last 10 minutes. The 1st XV now proceed through to the U18 Southland finals this coming Saturday. The game will be held at Central Southland College in Winton, at 1:15pm.

The club has had a successful year, with many players being selected for representative teams. It would be great to see your support this weekend at the games as your contribution is crucial and effects the boys’ attitude, who play not only to win, but for the pride of the school and our community behind the jersey.

Thank you for your continued support - St Peter’s Rugby Club.

Sam Watkins -  Head Boy
