As part of the Level Two Physical Education Course the students participated in a four day cross-country skiing and snow caving camp at the Snow Farm, Wanaka from Saturday, September 3, to Tuesday, September 6. This camp fulfilled the final part of the Unit Standard 13352 Participate in two outdoor pursuit activities. It was also used as a final assessment for the NCEA Physical Education 2.8 paper (Risk Management in the Outdoors). The Cross Country Skiing was assessed to a national standard like we did for the climbing camp and some used it as part of the NCEA Physical Education 2.5 paper (Perform a physical activity to nationally developed performance standards).
All the students were a credit to themselves and the school in the way they behaved and participated. On behalf of the school I would like to thank the parents who helped, Cherie McMullan, Graeme Keyes, and Angela Juergensen, our student teacher, who was a great assistant for me.
