On Remembrance Day Saturday, November 11th, I helped carry the new Mckenzie Brothers War Memorial Flag Pole from Bluff RSA to the top of a hill in Bluff. The path up was very steep but we got the flag pole to the top and put it up. It can once again be seen from the Mckenzie brothers' home further down the hill. Both of the brothers died on the same day at the battle of the Somme, 1916. The original pole which we carried off the hill two years ago hadn't been seen for 50 years. It has now been preserved and is on display at the Bluff RSA.
