Kia ora koutou,
As we reach the end of a busy and productive Term One, I’d like to share a brief update on behalf of the Board. It has been a positive start to the year, highlighted by the purchase of our new school van. The signwriting has now been completed, and it looks fantastic. It is a real asset for transporting students safely and representing our school in the community with pride.
Alongside these visible developments, the Board’s core governance work continues. We are continually reviewing finances, policies, and property, and regularly monitoring attendance and student achievement. This ongoing work helps ensure the college operates well and remains in a strong position for the future.
A key part of our role is forward planning. We are working towards strategic goals for the coming years, considering how we can best support student success and wellbeing, strengthen our school environment, and make the most of new opportunities that will benefit our learners and the wider community. This long-term view is important for ensuring St Peter’s College remains a place where young people can thrive.
Looking ahead to next term, we ask whānau to please note the upcoming change to pick-up arrangements. The Robertson Street carpark will be closed for pick-up from the beginning of Term Two due to safety concerns. This change is designed to ensure students can exit the school site safely, and we appreciate your support and cooperation as we transition to the new system.
I would also like to acknowledge the outstanding way our students continue to present themselves in public. Whether volunteering at sports events, participating in placements, attending a school ball, or representing St Peter’s College in any capacity, they are consistently recognised as positive role models and caring, capable young people. We are incredibly proud of the way they uphold our school values and contribute to the wider community.
Finally, on behalf of the Board, I want to offer our sincere thanks to Mr Udy and all staff at St Peter’s College for their hard work and commitment throughout the term. Their dedication underpins every success we see in our students.
As we head into the Easter break, I hope everyone finds time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with whānau and friends. Thank you for your ongoing support of our school.
Ngā mihi,
Ceri Macleod
Presiding Member, St Peter’s College Board
