Message from the School Board

Posted Thursday November 20, 2025

Members of our College community may be aware of the recent Government directive removing the requirement for school boards to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We would like to reassure our community and whānau that, as a board, we remain committed to honouring Te Tiriti through the actions and priorities set out in our strategic plan.

While national policy settings may change over time, our Board has grown in knowledge and commitment to be respectful partners, celebrate cultural understanding, and our inclusive practice remains strengthened and unchanged. We continue to acknowledge, honour and show support to the wise and generous people within our school community, and those in our local Māori community, who have passed on their time, knowledge, experiences and aspirations for Māori and all students at St Peter's. It is those who have got us to where we are today that we honour as well as our honouring of Te Tiriti which supports positive learning environments for all students and is closely aligned with our special character and values.

We look forward to continuing this journey alongside our community and whānau as we work together for the benefit of all our students.

Ceri Macleod

Presiding Member

St Peter's College Board
