Kia ora koutou,
It is with great pleasure and deep gratitude that I share some significant news for our school community – the limited statutory intervention previously in place at St Peter’s College has now been removed. This marks a truly important milestone in our journey as a college. It reflects the dedication, professionalism, and collaboration of our staff, leadership team, and Board, and stands as a testament to what can be achieved through faith, perseverance, and shared purpose. We give thanks for the steady progress that has brought us to this point and for the continued strength of our St Peter’s community.
We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to our Limited Statutory Manager, Nicola Hornsey, for her steady guidance, wisdom, and support throughout the intervention process.
Following the recent School Board elections, we are also delighted to welcome several new members to our governance team, alongside a number of returning trustees. This renewal brings a wonderful mix of experience and fresh ideas to our board. We also welcome a new Proprietor’s Representative, alongside three returning Proprietor’s Reps, and our Staff and Student Representatives were both re-elected.
At our first meeting, I was delighted and humbled to be reappointed as Presiding Member, and we also appointed a new Deputy Presiding Member – Catherine Sawyer. We are fortunate to have a strong, dedicated group of people who are deeply committed to the success and wellbeing of St Peter’s College. I want to sincerely thank everyone who put their names forward for election and for their willingness to serve our community in this important way.
As we look ahead, I am genuinely excited about the direction we are taking as a college and the opportunities before us. As always, our students, our school community and our special character are our priority. Thank you to all who continue to entrust us with this responsibility, and for your ongoing faith, encouragement, and support. We look forward to working alongside Mr Udy and the rest of the St Peter’s College team in a strong, forward-thinking, and faith-centred partnership.
Ngā mihi nui,
Ceri Macleod
Presiding Member, St Peter’s College School Board
