As the end of the academic year rushes towards us, the International Whānau took the opportunity to farewell our three Year 13 students as part of the International outing to Cromwell in November.
All three students will be acknowledged at the SPC Prizegiving next week, but we wanted to give them a little something special to take with them as they head out into the world.
A huge thank you to Lina for creating the amazing picture books that capture their time at St Peter's College. The girls were also presented with Leaving Certificates from Mr Udy, as well as a St Peter's medal in a kete.
Dada Chantaraviroj and Ice Tuangjaruvinai will return to Thailand next week, while Sabrina will return to Hong Kong.
Dada has been at St Peter's College for seven years, and we are super excited that we may still see her from time to time, as she will be attending Otago University in 2026.
Ice has been at St Peter's College for two and a half years and is still deciding on her future pathway. At the moment, tertiary study in Thailand is her preferred option.
Sabrina has been with us for two years and has been accepted into Otago University for 2026, but the pull of Hong Kong University may see her continue her studies in her home country.
At St Peter's College, we have a long tradition of hosting and supporting long-term international students. We are always so proud of their amazing academic and extracurricular achievements in a new country, a new culture, a new language, and without the daily comfort of their home, family and friends.
Having our international students with us for many years gives us the opportunity to truly get to know them—their hopes and dreams—and to support them in achieving their goals. Of course, it also means it is incredibly hard to say goodbye.
We deeply appreciate the parents of our students, who entrust their children to us to guide and support, both in their education and in life.
It has been an absolute honour and privilege to have had Dada, Sabrina and Ice with us over the past years, and we look forward to seeing where their future studies and life experiences take them.
