Kia ora e te whānau
Since our last newsletter, we have farewelled our Year 13 leavers who begin the next stage in their life journey. While this time is always one with mixed emotions, the joy of seeing them achieve so much mixed with the sadness of having to say goodbye, we wish them all well in their next chapter. The memories forged during their time here at St Peter’s College they will no doubt cherish into the future and look back on with a range of emotions. Always remember that we are proud of each and every one of you and know that your contribution to the St Peter’s story is very much valued. The Leavers' Mass was a great celebration of our leavers' time here at the College, and they certainly leave with our best wishes and prayers.
I would like to remind parents that on Friday 14th of November there will be a Teacher Only Day where staff will be spending time preparing for new curriculum changes as well as school structural changes for 2026.
The School Board is currently working on developing a new strategic plan for the College for 2026. I wish to thank all those who responded to the surveys that were sent out in Term Three, which have given the Board some themes and areas of focus for our strategic plan.
In 2026 we will be celebrating 50 years of Miss Prue Scorgie teaching at St Peter’s College. This is a remarkable achievement and something that happens so rarely in any school that we cannot let this pass without a celebration. We are calling for anyone who would like to assist with the planning of this event to come to a meeting in the Principals office on Monday 10th of November at 6:00pm. Any assistance with this event will be greatly appreciated.
In the Church calendar, the month of November is an important time for us to remember the lives of those who have gone before us. On 1st of November, we celebrated All Saints Day followed by All Souls the following day. This is a time for us to pray for our loved ones and those we have known who have died and also a chance to reflect on our own life journey. Let’s take the opportunity of this reminder to share memories of our dearly departed and to pray for them.
