Career Pathways Department

Posted Thursday February 22, 2024

Another year has begun in the Department, and as always, we start with some great work ready courses. Some students have been through Health and Safety, First Aid, and most Year 13’s undertook a Communications course.

These courses all provide valuable skills for students moving into the workforce.

Coming up - Murihiku Tertiary Academy begins this week; we have 29 students taking part in nine programmes across SIT campuses in Gore and Invercargill.

STAR Liquor Licence is also available in the school holidays. This is open to students 16 years and older and it provides five Level 4 credits. These can be used for Level 2 and 3 NCEA. This is a great course for students looking for work in the hospitality industry. First course is 15th and 18th April (two-day course).

We have lots of exciting things happening this year in the Department, and we will keep you updated as the year progresses.
