We are quickly moving through the year with our senior students busily engaged in a range of assessment opportunities from the CAA to various NCEA assessments. It is important that they take all these opportunities to gain credits as we never know what is around the corner. Internals present an opportunity to usually get formative feedback along the way to help maximise potential results. For our juniors, there are also a range of assessments happening, and I would again encourage all to apply themselves to make the most of these opportunites.
Many of our students have been busy with the school production of OIiver, which was absolutely fantastic. I am sure that everyone who attended found this to be enjoyable and a positive experience. I wish to express my thanks to all the staff who contributed in various ways to make this happen. A huge thanks to Victoria Kelly and Brendan Terry for the tremendous amount of hours they put into this. Also a big congratulations to the students who spent hours practising in the lead-up to the production. Well done! These events do not run without tremendous amounts of input from volunteers, staff and students.
We have also had a successful Junior Quad exchange in Dunedin against the three other Catholic secondary schools. Our college held its own and had some very positive results, as well as students enjoying the opportunity to compete against different competition in their various codes. Thanks again to the parents, coaches and staff who made this opportunity possible. Our students were also a true credit to our college with their behaviour, sportsmanship and the effort they put in. Well done.
Enrolments for 2026 are now open and I would encourage you to book an appointment early if you have a child you want to enrol in St Peter's College. We have an Open Night on Wednesday 30th of July starting at 5:30pm here at the college. If you know of anyone thinking of sending their child here, encourage them to come along.
Finally, I want to highlight that we are coming up to St Peter’s Day which is on Friday 27th of June. We will have a full school mass at 9:30am at the Parish which all parents, etc, are invited to. The day will continue back at the college with a range of activities to celebrate our foundation, the founding orders and our school community. Let’s make this a day to remember and one that affirms all that makes our college unique and the great institution that it is.
