Term Three has started smoothly with the 2025 school year moving ever closer to the end. A reminder to all students to make the most of the time that is left this year. Make sure you turn up to class on time prepared to learn, take on board the feedback from your teachers and give each task your best effort. Sustained effort, regular attendance and quality feedback acted upon is the basic recipe for academic success.
We had a fantastic celebration of St Peter’s Day at the end of last term. Students engaged in the various activities of the day with great enthusiasm. House Spirit was well and truly on display. Thanks to all those who helped to make the day the success it was, a special thanks to Mrs Brenssell who has done a tremendous job this year in building back up the house competition.
I have recently returned from two and a half weeks in Asia visiting some of our former International Students, some of the school's from which they have come and the various agents we deal with. The trip was a great success, and we came away with a great appreciation of the challenges that our International Students experience moving to a different country, away from family and with an entirely different language. I wish to thank Mrs Nikki Cunningham, our International Director, for organising the trip and joining me on these visits. It looks like we are going to have an increase in the number of International Students in 2026 thanks to the visit. Also, a thank you to Mrs Ryan who was Acting Principal in my absence.
Finally, I wish to encourage parents to consider running for the Board of Trustees. Nominations close on August 6th and must be sent to Mrs Henry the Returning Officer. The Board of Trustees is critical for the smooth running of the College and ensuring effective governance. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact me or Mrs Henry.
