Entries are now open for the 2026 Hokonui Fashion Design Awards, and we would love to see students from your school involved in this nationally recognised event celebrating emerging fashion talent.
The awards are open to designers of all ages and experience levels, including dedicated school sections for primary, intermediate and secondary school students.
Key Dates:
22 May 2026 – Entry deadline
24 June 2026 – Garments must be received in Gore
30 June 2026 – Written submissions due for Narrative, Auaha and Sustainable awards
24 July 2026 – Hokonui Strictly Design Evening (School Section winners announced)
25 July 2026 – Hokonui Gala Awards Evening (Open Section winners announced)

Entry fees start from $20 for school section entries, $50 for open section entries and $65 for a collection entry. Entrants from schools and design schools are able to select an invoice payment option when completing the online entry form.
We encourage teachers and tutors to share this opportunity with students interested in fashion design, textiles, or wearable art. Full entry information and submission forms can be found on our website.
