On Friday students began at Hokonui Tertiary High School. We have students going out to various programmes in Gore and Invercargill from Automotive to Uniformed Services. Photos will follow in the coming weeks. We start the year with 17 students on the Gateway programme and some students will start their placements this Thursday. It’s an exciting time as they go out and experience the world of work in their chosen career.
This week we had visits from two universities. Lincoln University came on Monday and spoke to 8 of our Year 13 students about the study options at Lincoln. On Thursday, Greg Hellyer, the liaison officer from Otago University, spoke to a large contingent of Year 13’s. It is never too early to start thinking about how students are going to pay for their tertiary study; a great source of information is Money Hub.
