![]() On Monday, May 6, Ethan Mitchell and I embarked on an adventure of a lifetime to Outward Bound. We both knew the next 21 days was going to challenging and full of adventure but we had no idea what to expect. We were put into 'watches' that were made up of 14 other boys and girls from schools all over Southland. These people were who we were going to be living and challenging ourselves with for the next 3 weeks. Throughout the weeks we spent our time kayaking, tramping, running, sailing, rock climbing, high ropes courses, coasteering and the dreaded solo. We also got in touch with ourselves and thought about the things we were grateful for, our values and goals, who we want to be and what things shaped us into the people we are today. Outward Bound taught us to push ourselves past our comfort zone, appreciate the little things in life, and that changes and challenges are good. I’d like to thank the school for the opportunity and the Outward Bound instructors and staff for being so loving and welcoming. We would highly recommend the 'mind body and soul' course to anyone aged 16-18 as it truly benefited my life and was the coolest three weeks ever. Rosie Corcoran - Year 12
