Year 13 PE Camp
On Sunday the Year 13PE class drove up to Wanaka to do Mountain Biking and Cross Country Skiing as part of their 3.7 Achievement Standard. The first activity was Mountain Biking at Sticky Forest, an awesome forest with up to 29 different trails of varying ability. The students had a ball doing the different tracks with only a couple of mishaps! On Monday, we travelled up to the Snow Farm to do cross country skiing. We started with a lesson around the lodge and did some beginner trails around the lodge before embarking on our expedition out to the Bob and Daisy Lee huts, where we stayed for the night. It certainly was an entertaining journey out to the hut, with several good falls and snowball fights. The weather was gorgeous. Camping in the hut overnight was a great experience especially when the groomer came for a wee visit late at night. We woke to crisp conditions on Tuesday and had yet another adventure trying to get back to the lodge. The trip back was more challenging and slightly more icy but we all made it without too many bruises. It was a fabulous learning experience thoroughly enjoyed by all. Bring on next year.
