St Peter’s College (Gore)
Board of Trustee Election Declaration of Parent Selection Results At the date closure of 23 March, as there were no voters requesting a by-election, I hereby declare the following duly elected: METZLER Karl Signed J Henry Returning Officer ![]() Kia ora tatou We have so much to be grateful for – a wonderful term of opportunities, achievements, successes, and much happiness. Along with many of our staff, students and parents, I truly enjoyed the chance to be part of the Senior Catholic Secondary Schools’ Sports Tournament last Sunday and Monday. We are very fortunate as a Catholic school to be part of a network of schools who all have the same foundations and values. This commonality is very obvious when the students come together during sports tournaments and public speaking competitions every year. There is a natural connection and relationships forged that will continue from year to year. This is community at its best. I enjoyed the chance to accompany thirty of our senior students to the Leadership Day held on Easter Tuesday. I am proud of the fact that this was a school holiday, yet so many of our young men and women committed to attending this day. We all had plenty of fun and I am sure they have taken away plenty of new skills ideas to use within their personal leadership journeys. It was certainly busy last weekend. We had a senior group away at the South Island Secondary Schools’ Adventure Race, the year 7&8s were involved in the Southland Primary Athletics, and we had a very successful team attend the Southland Schools’ Swimming Championships. You can read about their successes further in this newsletter. Thank you all for representing St Peter’s so well. Good luck to our Rugby 7s team which competes in the Southland finals today. Have a wonderful holiday and I look forward to seeing everyone back safely on Monday, April 30th. Ordination of Bishop-elect Michael Dooley On Thursday, April the 26th at 6.00pm Fr Michael Dooley will be ordained the 7th Bishop of our Otago-Southland Diocese in the Dunedin Town Hall. Everyone is very welcome to attend and we encourage families from our school to be there with students wearing their school uniform. While the Mass will be a little longer than usual the Town Hall has plenty of space if younger children are getting restless. It will be wonderful to gather with families and parishioners from all over our Diocese.
