Our group is a making a combined project that helps young coaches and hockey players get a small guideline of the game. One half of the group is making an app that is available on Android® and Apple® devices for easy access anywhere the person may be. This is the base of the project as it is portable and very quick to find/access. There are features in this app to help young coaches by teaching them ways to help young players with drills to learn with or without others around and also a part with the game rules and history to help with any other bits of knowledge they might want to know. The second part is a website with the same features but an online version that can be accessed by those with no storage on their devices.
Overall our project is going well as we are all able to contribute some of our strengths and take something new from this experience. A couple of us had almost no knowledge of hockey at the start of this project and throughout the many lessons we have had, everyone has grown their knowledge of the two main aspects of our project. One main thing we have learned is how to piece together an app into different sections and make it accessible to everyone. We have also learned simple steps to coding through a website called App Lab and that will help us in the future if we are ever to do another project like this. We highly recommend App Lab to anyone who would like to build an app/website of their own. Ryan Fitchett, Caleb McRae, James Mackereth, Ethan Friend and Kynan Marsh
